Sürücü: The isolation on Abdullah Öcalan must end 2022-11-26 10:26:51   URFA - Saying that the increasing violence and oppression against women is not independent of the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, HDP MP Ayşe Sürücü asked for the isolation in İmralı to end.   There has been no news for 19 months from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is in İmralı High Security Type F Closed Prison. All applications for family and lawyer opinion remain unanswered. As the isolation deepens, Turkey expands its war and security policies. This puts pressure on the whole society, especially on women.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa Member of Parliament Ayşe Sürücü said: "The isolation had a negative impact on the entire society, especially on women, and pointed out that everyone, especially women, should raise their voices against the isolation."   'RIGHTS ARE NOT IMPLEMENTED FOR ÖCALAN'   Noting that the isolation on Imrali Island, which started in 1999, has been deepened and continued since April 5, 2015, Sürücü said: "The rights applied to all prisoners in Turkey do not apply to Abdullah Öcalan. These rights are not provided for Mr. Öcalan. Neither lawyers nor family can talk. They do not allow telephone rights. There is a huge isolation on Imrali Island."   'PRESSIONS ARE NOT INDEPENDENT OF ISOLATION'   Stating that the isolation has spread to the whole society, Sürücü said: "Since 2015, there has been an economic, political and social collapse in Turkey, and prisons have turned into cemeteries. There are coffins in prisons every day. Ill prisoners die. The situation in prisons is obvious. There has been an increase in violence against women along with the isolation. The state of war in the country, the economic crisis, this monistic understanding suffocates women. Many women are murdered by men. Since last November, 335 women have been murdered by men. 220 female suspects have died.  Contracts defending women have been cancelled. Violence against women has increased. These are not independent of the isolation in Imrali."   'THE SOLUTION IS IN IMRALI'   Stating that the slogan "Jin, jiyan, azadi", which came to the fore in the rebellion in Iran, spread throughout the world, Sürücü said: "The 'Jin jiyan azadi' slogan derives from the philosophy of Abdullah Öcalan. Mr. Öcalan says that 'Society cannot be liberated until women are liberated.' That's why we say once again on the week of November 25: The isolation on Mr. Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı must end. Free conditions must be created for him. The Kurdish problem can only be solved with him. This problem cannot be solved with the bombing of Kobane,  Shengal and Qandil. There will be no solution with attacks on Rojava and Bashur. The solution can only be achieved through dialogue and negotiations. The addressee of this is Abdullah Öcalan."   MA / Müjdat Can
