Beating with racist music during transfer to hospital 2025-01-28 11:07:26   ANKARA - Prisoner Latif Mollaahmetoğlu was beaten and threatened by a lieutenant during his transfer to a hospital.   It is stated that Latif Mollaahmetoğlu, who is imprisoned in Izmir Type F High Security Closed Prison No 2, was beaten and threatened during transfer to hospital. According to the information obtained from the family; Mollaahmetoğlu was wanted to be taken to the doctor's appointment on 24 January in handcuffs. When Mollaahmetoğlu objected to this, he was beaten by the soldiers and forced into a ring car. The soldiers made Mollaahmetoğlu listen to racist anthems in the vehicle.   Mollaahmetoğlu, who shouted slogans against the violence he was subjected to, was handcuffed and put in a cell in the hospital. It is learned that the soldiers attempted to attack Mollaahmetoğlu here too, but were prevented by other detainees in the cell.   A lieutenant came up to Mollaahmetoğlu and threatened him by saying, "Remember me well and don't forget me, I have a lot of work to do with you". The threats against Mollaahmetoğlu continued on the way back. Mollaahmetoğlu told his family that on the way back, a non-commissioned officer leaned into his ear and said, "My lieutenant sends his regards to you, he has more work to do with you."   'PRISON ADMINISTRATION IS RESPONSIBLE'   Mollaahmetoğlu's sister Dilan Mollaahmetoğlu said, "The prison administration is responsible for anything that may happen to Latif." Family members emphasised that they have filed a criminal complaint on the issue and they expect support from the public.   Mollaahmetoğlu was also attacked by soldiers when he was taken to the hospital in March 2022, because he objected to the doctor's handcuffed examination. Molaahmetoğlu's family filed a criminal complaint to Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office through the members of the Contemporary Lawyers Association Izmir Branch Prison Commission.   MA / Fırat Can Arslan
