Imrali isolation discussed with Council of Europe and CPT 2025-01-31 08:56:52 NEWS CENTER - Raziye Öztürk, one of the lawyers of Law Office of the Century, met with CPT and Council of Europe parliamentarians and demanded steps against İmralı isolation.  Raziye Öztürk, one of the lawyers of Law office of the Century (Asrın Law Office), who travelled to Strasbourg, France to make various contacts, held meetings with parliamentarians of the Council of Europe, senior bureaucrats as well as various groups in the council yesterday.   During the day, Raziye Öztürk held a meeting with the CPT and conveyed the disciplinary penalties, bans on lawyer visits, unlawful practices such as isolation, and violations of rights in İmralı, which were developed and continued against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in 2024 and onwards.    Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Representative to the Council of Europe Fayik Yağızay was also present at the meeting where the dossier prepared on the violations and usurpations of rights in İmralı for one year was handed over to the CPT officials.   During the meeting with the authorities, it was stated that despite the recommendations and suggestions of the CPT, Turkey did not comply with them. The importance of the CPT taking an effective step against this was emphasised and a demand was made to fulfil its duties.
