Peace Mother in Parliament: We will shoulder responsibility 2025-03-04 15:20:43 ANKARA - Speaking at the DEM Party group meeting, Peace Mother Tanizel Baydar said, "We promise Mr Öcalan. Peace Mother will shoulder responsibility." Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party organized a women's group meeting for March 8 International Women's Day. Peace Mother Tenzile Baydar also took the floor at the meeting held in the Parliament.    Drawing attention to the call of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Tenzile Baydar emphasised that the process is an imprtant opportunity. Tenzile Baydar said, "We promise to Mr Öcalan. Peace Mothers will shoulder responsibility, as always. Mr Erdogan and Bahceli also extended their hands. I thank them too. Our expectations are very high. As mothers, we no longer wnat to hold our children's body in bags and cartons. We also call out to the mothers of soldiers; we are all mothers, mothers of guerrillas, mothers of soldiers, mothers of police officers, mothers who suffer. We have this opportunity. Mr Öcalan has declared a peace process. I appeal to all mothers of soldiers to come and hold our hands. Let us carry out this process shoulder to shoulder. We really need peace. Mothers have suffered a lot. Every mother either had her child sentenced to a heavy prison sentence or buried her child. Our children died, the mothers of soldiers organized condolences, but we couldn't even organise condolences. Those mothers lived their pain inside. They could not say that their child was dead. That is why this process is very important for us."   Tenzile Baydar added, "Our country is a very beautiful country. Let there be no bloodshed. Soldier's mothers, police mother... let's celebrate March 8 together, hand in hand. This is what we want. We will never be silent in favour of peace. Yes, we have suffered a lot, but when it comes to peace, all the Peace Mothers are ready. I would also like to thank Mr Öcalan for giving us this opportunity on March 8. I would also like to thank Mr Tayyip Erdogan and Mr Bahceli."
