We were told that steps will be taken regarding isolation says Sezai Temelli 2025-04-24 16:09:57   ANKARA - Describing the meeting with Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunc, DEM Party MP Sezai Temelli said he was told that "necessary steps will be taken within the legal framework" regarding the İmralı isolation.   A 2-hour meeting was held between the delegation of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party and Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunc. DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Sezai Temelli, one of the members of the delegation, spoke to Mezopotamya Agency (MA) about the content of the meeting.   Informing that they went to the meeting with a comprehensive preparation, Temelli stated that the talks will continue at later dates, but that they presented ideas on the realisation of legal regulations as soon as possible in line with political developments. "The meeting was generally positive," Temelli said.   Stating that the meeting with Minister Tunc started with a speech on the improvement of the conditions of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Temelli said, "We conveyed our ecpectetions, the expectations of the publich and our people to them in all clarity. We expressed to the that 'everything that can be done within the legal framework can be done, and that the legal framework cna be changed in the coming period'. But for today, they said that they will look at what can be done to improve the conditions that we characterise as isolation and that they can tke the steps that need to be taken in this regard within the legal framework. Of course, although this is not enough, it will be an important start. I hope it will continue."   LIST OF ILL PRISONERS PRESENTED   Temelli stated that the problems regarding prisons, especially the ill prisoners, the execution regulation, the problems created by the Administration and Observation Board (IGK), the Forensic Medicine Institution (ATK) and the disciplinary boards were discussed, and that the Ministry will make an assessment on the inclusion of these issues in the judicial package expected to be submitted to the Parliament.
