90 ill prisoners in Antalya prisons: They must release 2025-05-09 09:16:23 ANTALYA - Nazime Bayhan, Co-chair of TUAYDER, stated that there are 90 ill prisoners in the prisons in Antalya and said, "There are seriously ill prisoners. We do not want them to come out in coffins. They must be released as soon as possible." Prisoners in Antalya’s S-Type, High Security, Manavgat S Type, and L Type Closed Prisons are systematically deprived of their basic rights. In the S-Type and High Security Prisons in Antalya, the wards where prisoners are held are searched arbitrarily at night, and hygiene products and personal belongings are confiscated. Prisoners are categorized with charges such as "bomber" or "activist," and their requests for room changes are rejected. The 90 ill prisoners in the Antalya prisons are neither released nor treated.   Speaking about the human rights violations in the prisons in Antalya, Nazime Bayhan, Co-chair of the Antalya Association for the Solidarity with Families of Detainees and Convicts (TUAYDER), reminded that no action has been taken since the call made by Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan on February 27 and said that they do not want coffins coming out of prisons.   Nazime Bayhan pointed out that there are 90 seriously ill prisoners in the prisons in Antalya and stated, "Their treatments are being blocked. Since Abdullah Öcalan's call, no action has been taken by the state. The state continues its same oppression in prisons. Especially in Antalya Döşemealtı S-Type Prison, serious human rights violations are taking place. Not only are our friends not being released, but they are also not allowed to receive treatment."   Nazime Bayhan also mentioned that the release of 30-year-long prisoners is being obstructed for various reasons and said, "Prisons continue to give additional sentences ranging from 6 to 12 months to prisoners. We do not accept this. We believe in and trust Abdullah Öcalan. February 27, when the call was made, is a day for peace and freedom. If we stand behind Mr. Öcalan, we will win and we will release the prisoners in jail. We will also put an end to this oppression. We have seriously ill prisoners, and we do not want them to come out in coffins. All political prisoners in the prisons should be released."   MA / Abdulkadir Ayten
