Kurdish Women's National Union: Death sentences must be cancelled 2025-08-27 13:54:53 NEWS CENTER - Kurdish Women's National Union Initiative in Europe condemned the Iranian regime's practices against women's rights and death sentences.    The statement reacted to the confirmation of the death sentence of Şerife Mohammadi in Lakan Prison in Rasht on 16 August by the 39th Chamber of the Supreme Court of Iran.  In its statement, the initiative emphasised that Şerife Mohammadi is a symbol of resistance and stated that the death sentence is unacceptable.   The initiative also announced that they have taken action for Werişe Muradi and Pexşan Ezizi, who were also sentenced to death, and called on Iran to cancel these verdicts.   The National Union of Kurdish Women in Europe also warned human rights organisations and called on them not to remain silent on the practices against women's rights.
