The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) published its report on human rights violations concerning the anti-regime protests in Iran, not in their 28th day. According to the report, which compiles events over 27 days, the confirmed death toll stands at 5 thousand 137. It was noted that 12 thousand 904 cases are still under investigation. It was recorded that at least 7 thousand 402 people were seriously injured during the protests, while a total of 27 thousand 797 people, including 175 children, were arrested.

To date, there have been 640 protest demonstrations (excluding repeat demonstrations) in 194 cities and 31 provinces. The report stated, “These figures were recorded during the third week of nationwide internet outages and disruptions. The publication of new reports on targeted arrests, the release of forced confessions, and the extension of the mandate of the United Nations (UN) human rights authorities were among today's other significant developments, reflecting the government's efforts to control the narrative and maintain pressure on protesters."

The report noted that there has been no sign of the nationwide protests abating; on the contrary, it emphasised that the demonstrations continue and that the regime has responded with internet bans and increased arrests.

According to the published report, at least 22 people were arrested in the cities of Lumar in the provinces of Kerman, Tehran, Semnan and Ilam. At the same time, a video containing “forced confessions” of five people was released. In addition to the statistics and scattered arrests, there have also been individual arrests by security forces. The report stated: “Baha’i citizen and photojournalist Artin Ghazanfari was arrested at his private residence in Tehran on 19 January and taken to an undisclosed location.”
