
Prisoners from Kurdistan banner are held in Police Department

	ANKARA - 7 women, who were detained because of the banner reading "Kurdistan" during the November 25 protest, are being held in Ankara Police Department.

	&nbsp;

	In Ankara, women gathered in Sakarya Square on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 25, to protest violence against women. In the action, 7 women carrying banners that read "From Afghanistan to Iran, from Iran to Kurdistan, from Kurdistan to Turkey will not go out" were detained by the police.

	The women held in the Ankara Police Department were allowed to meet with their lawyers 6 hours after they were taken into custody.

	THEY ARE FORCED TO GIVE THE PHONE PASSWORD

	According to the Ankara Branch of the Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) on social media, the banners of the women were seized on the grounds that "Kurdistan" was included in the content of the banner, and then de facto detention was carried out for an hour under the name of "accompaniment".

	&nbsp;

	The prisoners stated that they were held in reverse handcuffs for hours and forced to give their phone passwords with insults and threats.
