ANKARA -  The sit in started by the bar presidents prevented from entering Ankara continues. HDP Group Deputy Chairperson Meral Danış Beştaş who wore her tog said that the will of 100 thousand lawyers is ignored.

 

The bar presidents and the accompanying lawyers are protesting the police with applause and slogans. HDP Group Deputy Chairperson Meral Danış Beştaş joined the sit in wearing her tog.

 

BEŞTAŞ: THE WILL OF 100 THOUSAND LAWYERS IS BEING IGNORED

 

Beştaş who stated that there is no fair trial if there is no defense and there is no fair trial if there are no bar associations, said: "The government had been working to take control of the bars for a long time. The defense is marching now, which is very important and valuable. Preventing the representation of the defense reveals a totalitarian picure. This is what we call the one man regime. Preventing the defense to march once again reveals the pitifulness of AKP. The barricades must be removed and the lawyers must continue their march. The lawyers does not only represent themselves, they also represent fair trial."

 

Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul also spoke about the march in a live broadcast program he attended and said: "There is no proposal yet, which article do you object to?"
