İSTANBUL - Lawyers demanded the release of Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsal in the 'Justice Watch' in front of Çağlayan Courthouse and warned that the government will be responsible from any harm on their health.

 

Lawyers for Freedom Association (ÖHD) and Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD) members attended the watch, demanding 'fair trial' for People's Law Office lawyers Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsal.

 

HHB member Ayşegül Çağatay stated that Ebru Timtik is on the 209th day of the death fast while Aytaç Ünsal is on the 178th day. Çağatay said: "They have fought for justice all their lives. They were locked behind bars and refused to be silenced. Even though their eyes light up with resistance and faith, their bodies are wasting away."

Reminding that Timtik is now 35 kilos while Ünsal is 55, Çağatay said: "Their health is detoriorating day by day. Keeping them in prison longer will lead to unrecoverable damage. We have submitten dozens of release petitions with our colleagues. With our efforts, they were referred to Forensic Medicine Institude (ATK) Now we want the report as soon as possible and a decision from 37th High Criminal Court. Release our friends or you will be responsible from any harm on their health."

 

After the statement, lawyers went to the 37th High Criminal Court to submit their petitions.
