VAN - Commenting on the statement made by the governorate regarding Turgut and Şiban who were thrown out of a helicopter, HDP MPs stated that it was attempted murder by state and a serious human right violation.

Following the report proving Osman Şiban and Servet Turgut was thrown out of a helicopter after being detained by soldiers in Van, Van Governorate made a statement and said: "It was observed that the person named Servet Turgut fell and was injured in the rocky area while trying to escape by not obeying the stop warning. They were later captured in line with the procedure and taken under protection despite they resisted." HDP Van MPs Muazzez Orhan, Murat Sarısaç and Mersin MP Rıdvan Turan commented on the statement of the governorate.

ATTEMPTED MURDER BY STATE

Stating that the chief physicians they interviewed at the hospital confirmed that they had fallen from a great height, Turan sai: "This was an attempted murder by state and a serious human right violation. I say this based on the hospital's report proving falling from a great height, the chief physician's statement that he fell on his face and the diagnosis of multiple trauma. These injuries do not happen wih beating. The eye witnesses stated that they saw the two men getting on the helicopter and they were perfectly fine. In many murders, crimes and heavy human rights violations committed in Kurdistan so far, governors, commanders and the interior ministry have always made similar statements. These acts can no longer stay hidden."

'GOVERNORATE STATEMENT IS A CONFESSION'

Van MP Orhan Işık who told that the statement of the governorate is a disgrace, said the local governor is trying to shelve the attempted murder. Orhan said: "In a way, the statement of the governorate indicates that they approve the act. The governorship made this statement in order to manipulate the statement of the delegation and to mislead the public. It is stated in the hospital report that these people fell from a height and from a helicopter. While the hospital report confirmes that the injured men were brought to the hospital by the soldiers, the hospital later claims that there were no one with them when they were borught in, after the governorate statement. This statement made by the governorate is in fact a confession."

Stating that the incident is a result of the hostility of AKP -MHP towards the Kurds, Murat Sarısaç said: "This was not at all a surprise to us. In fact, we were convinced from day one that the two men were thrown out of the helicopter but we didn't make any claims without concrete evidence. Those two villagers have been subjected to this torture because they are Kurdish. Now we are discussing whether they ended up in the intensive care unit because they were thrown out of a helicopter, or they were merely tortured. This clearly shows how unbearable life has become in Turkey and how AKP- MHP regime polarized the society."
