ANKARA – HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan responded to the AKP regarding the detentions of the party members and said: "HDP did not kneel, and never will, let that become a worry to you". Buldan called on to the opposition to be shoulder to shoulder against these attacks.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan held a press conference in the party headquarters regarding the operation against the party members.

Stating that they made a plan at the Central Executive Board meeting, Buldan said: "They brought our friends who were detained yesterday to Ankara. As of the operation, our party was supported by the people and political party represantatives. We want to say thank you to the political party represantatives, the women and everyone who are in solidarity with us."

Stating that the operation against HDP is a political move, Buldan said the operation was the continuation of the revenge of the government for June 7 elections. Buldan said: "Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ are still in prison for more than 4 years. For more than 4 years, our parliamentarians and co-mayors are still under arrest. Those operations have continued unabated since then. Political genocide operations were never interrupted. All the achievements of HDP and Kurds were tried to be usurped. Municipal co-mayors were arrested, trustees were appointed to our municipalities, new operations were carried out every day, our friends in our provincial and district organizations were detained,, they tried to keep them away from politics. These operations continues as of yesterday, it is not a new thing. This is the continuation of the previous operations against HDP, and the continuation of the political coups of AKP.

It is very clear why our friends were detained if you just look at their background and what they do. They all have been struggling for peace, democracy and justice. I want to emphasize that all of our friends under custody must immediately be released. This is a blow against democracy in Turkey. The democracy in Turkey, the rule of law have been trampled. The purpose of this political operation is actually clear. AKP's inability to govern Turkey leads to them attacking HDP.  The AKP cannot be successful in any of its policies today.

If the attacker is AKP, the opposition must unite. We have to find the ways to unite, to fight together, shoulder to shoulder. I want to express my belief that the people in Turkey will prevail if they unite. We will win. Nobody should doubt that. Those who are oppressed will succeed. HDP will succeed. "HDP did not kneel, and never will, let that become a worry to you". Buldan called on to the opposition to be shoulder to shoulder against these attacks."
