KOCAELİ - Stating that the bag law proposal that will come to the General Assembly means "precarious work" for all youth, the youth said "The only way is to fight against the bag law that aims to create 'young slaves'.

Reactions to the proposal of "Unemployment Insurance Law and the Law on Amending Certain Laws", which was accepted by the Parliament's Plan and Budget Committee continue. With the implementation of "fixed-term employment contracts to be applied to workers under 25 and over 50", one of the articles in the law proposal that concerns young people, severance pay and job security will be destroyed. Another item is defined as "part time work". Employees who work less than 10 days in a month will not be paid insurance premiums valid for retirement, employers will only pay general health insurance premiums.

Stating that the bag law means “precarious work” for all youth, Cemre Kavuk, a member of Kocaeli Labor Youth, said that, the bag bill aims to create young slaves. Kavuk said: "Today, many of our friends work long hours under heavy conditions with low wages. Making contracted work widespread will make this situation more common. We will not be able to receive severance and notice pay in case of termination. This entirely eliminates the employement security."

'WE MUST STAND UP AGAINST IT TOGETHER'

Noting that all young people should come together for the demand of job security , Kavuk said: "We have no other choice to come together and stand up against it together to prevent the one man regime and its bosses to rob us from our futures."

A reader of Kaldıraç journal, Gülfem Kavak said: "Capitalist system turns the covid-19 outbreak into an opportunity. The bag law is an attack against the workers."
