VAN- It was reporterd that in Gebze Women's Prison where most of the guards are diagnosed with Covid-19, the guards apply psychological pressure on the prisoners, saying 'You're gonna end yo dead anyway'.

 

 

The violations of rights continue in Gebze Women's Closed Prison. Speaking to her family on the phone, Sibel Uçar told that the guards are applying psychological pressure on the prisoners. Being imprisoned for 6 years, Uçar said the psychological pressure applied by the guards is being normalized by the prison administration. Uçar said many of the guards were diagnosed with Covid- 19. 

 

Uçar said: "The prisoners were not given any foon until night on Thursday. The guards told us 'Your're gonna end up dead anyway'. We can not buy food from the canteen too. The prison administration doesn't take any measures against the outbreak and there are prisoners older than 65 who have cancer.

 

Uçar called for public awareness.
