ANKARA - Stating that the tension built by the KDP in the Federated Kurdistan Region is the harbinger of the operation that will be launched by Turkey, Politician Hatip Dicle said: "No Kurdistani movement must be involved in a birakujî (brother's killing each other).

The settlement of a group of peshmergas affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the Zînî Wertê region of the Federated Kurdistan Region in March caused tension. The Shengal agreement signed between the Iraqi Central Government and the Federated Kurdistan Regional Government and the shifting of a special power affiliated to the KDP to the Gore region increased tensions. Then, at the meeting held on October 27 with the participation of MIT administrators in the residence of KDP Chairman Mesut Barzani, who gave a signal of "war" against the PKK in the region, it was revealed that an operation decision was taken against Garê. This decision and the military activity of the KDP in the region caused birakuji (brother's war) concerns among the Kurds.

Experienced politician and Member of the Board of Imrali Hatip Dicle, answered our questions about the tension KDP causes in the Federated Kurdistan Region.

Speaking about the warning that the war between the Kurds might turn into a Kurdish genocide, Dicle said: "It is clear that a possible armed conflict between the KDP forces and the freedom guerilla will create historical opportunities for the Turkish state for new military moves. The statement of Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Turkish Foreign Minister is a harbinger of a new operation to be launched by Turkey.

In such a situation, it is highly probable that the Turkish state will mobilize ISIS in Southern Kurdistan, especially on the Mosul-Kirkuk line. Following this move, Turkish state will probably mobilize its tanks from two sides, one side will be Hewlér while the other will be Mosul and Kirkuk. Undoubtedly they will not say that to invade those lands is their dream as a state and that they are fulfilling it, but that they are trying to protect Erbil, Mosul and Kirkuk from ISIS and PKK invation. Just like they told they carried out the invasion in Kıbrıs back in 1974 for 'peace'. Just like they named the operation against Rojava 'Peace Spring'.

Isn't it clear when PKK made an official statement that they will not be the aggressor in any way other than defending themselves, the disaster KDP may cause will exceed a brother's fight and turn into a genocide? Will there be a 'Federated Kurdistan' status after such a conflict? Those who are familiar with the annihilation concept of Turkey, can forsee such a scenerio. I hope that wisdom will win. Kurdish people will not be the victim of miscalculation and false promises.

Commenting on the solution for this intense situation, Dicle said: "There is no doubt that all parties, every Kurdistani organization and every Kurdistan patriot have a duty to end this dangerous tension as soon as possible. The moderate behavior, discourse and style of the KCK executives, especially the PKK Executive Committee Member Mr. Karayılan, are beyond any appreciation. Unlike some senior executives of the KDP, they did not use a provocative language.  The attitude and appeals of the parties of Bashur, Rojava, Rojhilat and Bakûrê Kurdistan, especially the YNK and Goran Movement, and the democratic mass organizations have been in a manner that strengthens the line of national unity.

However, this tension also opened a discussion on what kind of a national unity is preferred. Undoubtedly, when Kurdistan was split into 4 partys a hundred years ago, that happened against the will of the people of Kurdistan. Therefore, the state borders dividing Kurdistan cannot be seen legitimate by the Kurdish patriotic forces. Parties of every part can freely work and organize in every inch of Kurdistan. Legitimizing the borders will cause conflicts and damage the national unity. Undoubtedly, every Kurdistani party can maintain relations with various states, but no party should cooperate with any other state against another Kurdistani organization. In addition, it may become necessary to wage an armed struggle against the policies of the colonialist and occupying states that want to exterminate the Kurds in every part of Kurdistan. In such a situation, no Kurdistani movement must cooperate with the aggressive state in a war of siblings called birakuji.

Another principle should be the following: Kurdistani parties should solve various problems among themselves through political means in dialogue, and should not even think about using weapons against each other for whatever reason. We must make this a "national law" in Kurdistan. This is what must be done."
