VAN – Our reporter Dindar Karataş was detained during a raid on his home in Van.
Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporter Dindar Karataş was detained with a raid on his home in the İpekyolu district of Van. Special operation police surrounded his house early in the morning, raided the house, forcing everyone at home to lay face first on the floor and detained Karataş. The police confiscated Karataş's phone, camera and memory cards. The reason for his detention remains unknown. Karataş was taken to Provincial Security Directorate.
The police reported that Karataş was detained withing the scope of an investigation run by Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
