ADANA – A disciplinary investigation was launched against Ferhat Demirbaş who was diagnosed with coronavirus he contracted in prison and told our agency about the spreading virus in prison through his family. His visitation rights were removed.
The family of Ferhat Demirbaş who told his family that coronavirus was spreading to all prisons, contacted Mesopotamia Agency (MA) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu and conveyed their son's message.
The disciplinary committee of the prison started an investigation against Demirbaş after we published our report called 'Coronavirus spreads to whole prison in Bünyan Prison'.
Being interrogated within the scope of the investigation, Demirbaş was asked why he spoke to HDP and the press. Demirbaş told that he did not make false accusations, he merely told the truth.
Following his defense, the committee removed Demirbaş's visitation rights for a month.
