DİYARBAKIR- Laying her white scarf on the ground to protest the tension created by the KDP in Federated Kurdistan Region, Peace Mother Havva Kıran said: "We want those dirty hands to leave Bashur. Let's not be a pawn of any other state and unite."

The tension in the Federated Kurdistan Region, which started after the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has recently made a military build-up, continues. While many calls for sobriety were made against the tension, the Peace Mothers laid their white scarves on the ground recently, to protest the situation.

Havva Kıran (65) from the Diyarbakır Peace Mothers Assembly was one of those involved in the protests. Kıran, who has been detained 5 times and has been investigated 106 times so far, does not give up her demand for peace.

Kıran, who was in the delegation that went to the Federated Kurdistan Region in order to ensure the Kurdish unity, said that they fought hard for unity. Stating that the KDP is a pawn for other states, Kıran said: "KDP is the prisoner of other states in Bashur. Why don't they establish unity? Because they have personal interests."

Stating that unity is more important than bread and water right now, Kıran said: "When ISIS attacked Hewler, the children of these lands helped out. Today they have surrounded those children. This is not right. Today, while your brother sacrificed himself for you, hungry for your freedom, fighting under difficult conditions without water, you must assume responsibility."

THE IMPORTANCE OF WHITE SCARVES

Stating that white scarves are very important for thousands of years, Kıran said: "When there was a conflict between tribes, the fight would end when the mother of the tribe lays down her white scarf. That scarf was that important. It is important to stop the bloodshed. It is important for peace. All of our Peace Mother Assemblies have laid down their white scarves as a message to Barzani to stop a possible fight among brothers. They say it is a sin for a woman to show their hair. Our scarves are on the ground and our hair is out there for everyone to see."
