BATMAN - Hüsna Kurhan who was been called by the police four times to convince her to participate in the sit in staged in front of HDP Diyarbakır building, said, "The people who join that sit in are given the bodies of their children."

Specials units were established within the police stations who frequently call the families of the people who joined the PKK, trying to convince them to join the protest in front of the HDP Diyarbakır building. While dozens of police officers wait in front of the building for these families, many families who were brought to participate in the sit in have learned that their loved ones are dead. The families of police and soldiers who are placed in front of the building recieved news of the death of their children during the Garé operation.

While the wait of the group in front of the HDP continues, police are trying to bring the families of the people who have joined the PKK, in front of the provincial building.

The Kurhan family living in Batman is just one of them. The Batman police, who called the Kurhan family four times in the last month, forced the family to go to the HDP Diyarbakır provincial building for their children, Yahya Kurhan, who joined the PKK.

Father Kurhan is behind bars since 1991. Their son İbrahim Kurhan joined the PKK in 1992 and lost his life during the 1994-1998 conflict which Kurds calls the "Birakujî" (fratricide). Their daughter Hediye Kurhan joined the PKK in 1999 and lost her life in November 4, 2007 in a clash in Gabar District. And their other son Yahya Kurhan joined the PKK in 2014.

Mother Hüsna Kurhan had to migrate from Siirt to Adana, then to Mersin, İstanbul and finally Batman due to the pressure on the family.

POLICE TRIED TO CONVINCE HER TO SIT IN FRONT OF THE HDP BUILDING

Noting that her husband is behind bars for 30 years, Kurhan told that she was threatened by the state over and over again during that time and said that her house was frequently raided. Adding that she was called 4 times by the police who tried to convince her to join the sit in in front of the HDP Diyarbakır building, Kurhan said: "They called me 4 times in 2 weeks. They also called my children. Everytime they call, they ask about Yahya and my other children who lost their lives. I told them I didn't speak Turkish. They hung up the phone and another police who spoke Kurdish called me. He asked how I was doing, and then asked about Yahya. He told me about those people staging a sit in in Diyarbakır and said I was going to be able to reuinte with my son if I went there. I hung up on them."

Underlining that those who participate in the sit in in front of the HDP building are given the bones of their children, Kurhan demanded peace.
