DİYARBAKIR – Chair of Rosa Women's Association, Adalet Kaya, stated that the pressures against their associations are systematic state violence and said, "We are now very angry with these attacks. This anger will lead us to organize more and take stronger steps."

The Rosa Women's Association held a press release in the garden of the association building regarding the raids and detentions against their associations. Rosa Women's Association managers and members, and representatives of women's organizations attended the press release.

Speaking at the event, Adalet Kaya, President of Rosa Women's Association, stated that association building and homes of many women were raided and said, "Today we woke up with the attack on the women's struggle. Since May 22 last year, there have been attacks on both our association and the struggle against women in Diyarbakır that amount to judicial harassment. As a result of the operations and attacks since May 22, an investigation has been launched for almost every woman involved in the women's liberation struggle in Diyarbakır."

"SYSTEMATIC STATE VIOLENCE"

Underlining that the Rosa Women's Association is waging a women's liberation struggle, Kaya said: "We, as the Rosa Women's Association, are now fighting against a misogyny that amounts to gendercide. We carried out actions and activities against harassment, rape, forced marriages at an early age, against withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention, against the usurpation of the right to alimony, against the passage of TCK 103 within the execution arrangement. All of these have become law suits against us. The work we carry out is entirely within this scope and in democratic ground. Many of the women friends, who were taken into custody in the operation carried out today have been detained due to such acts and activities. They are trying to marginalize our association with these attacks. Just like the systematic violence against women is a state policy, the attacks against the women's struggle is state violence. We are very angry in the face of these attacks. This anger will lead us to organize more and take stronger steps."
