DİYARBAKIR - Condemning the attack of the Turkish Armed Forces on Shengal and Sikeniyê Hospital, the Kurdistan Alliance called on Turkey to respect the will of the people of Shengal and the status of Kurdistan.

Kurdistani Alliance condemned the attack of the Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) warplanes on Shengal and Sikeniyê Hospital in a written statement.
In the statement, which stated that targeting hospitals and civilian settlements even under war conditions is a crime, it was underlined, "It is within the scope of prohibition in terms of international law and conventions, and it is a crime. We call on the international community, especially the United Nations (UN), to take a stand against this attack and condemn it. This attack is an open and direct violation of the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Regional Government."

GAINS MUST BE RECOGNIZED

Pointing out that the attacks were not without the knowledge of the Federal Iraqi government, the statement said, “We should call on the Turkish government to respect the will of the people of Shengal and the status of Kurdistan. The Kazimi government is pursuing a different version of its Arabization policy in Kirkuk and other Kurdistani cities, in cooperation with the Turkish government, in Shengal. We call on the Iraqi Federal Government to take a stand against these attacks that violate its airspace. The walls built around Turkey clearly show that the AKP government's policy of destroying the gains of the Kurdish people at home and abroad does not bring a solution. We call on Turkey to officially and de facto recognize the gains in parts of Kurdistan, which will be the bridge of peace and relations with the Middle East.

CALL FOR UNITY

The statement continues as follows: "We call on our people and the international community to show solidarity with the people of Shengal, who are trying to heal the wounds of the genocide committed by ISIS against our Yazidi Kurdish people. We call on Kurdish political parties to be prepared for possible scenarios, taking into account what has happened and will happen in Afghanistan, focusing on developments in the Kurdistan Regional Government and Autonomous Rojava, and with the National Alliance.”
