Ill prisoner Gürdal died 13 days after his sentence was suspended

DİYARBAKIR - Tahir Gürdal, who contracted lung cancer after being imprisoned and was treated in handcuffs for 19 days at the hospital, died 13 days after his sentence was suspended.
 
Tahir Gürdal (53), who caught lung cancer after entering prison and was treated in handcuffs for days at Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital, died 13 days after his sentence was suspended.
 
Gürdal, whose handcuffs were removed after the Mezopotamya Agency (MA) news on Monday, November 21, with the headline "Cancer patient has been handcuffed in hospital for 19 days", was suspended for 6 months.
 
Seriously ill Gürdal (53), who has been detained in Van Type F High Security Prison for nearly 10 years, was transferred to Diyarbakır High Security Prison No. 1 to be treated. Gürdal was released in the hospital where he was treated in handcuffs for days on Monday, November 28, with a postponement of his sentence.
 
'LIVE UP TO 20 DAYS'
 
Speaking to our agency while Gürdal was receiving treatment, his son Birhat Gürdal said, “My father did not have any disease before, he got ill after he was imprisoned. Prison conditions are not suitable for prisoners. If he is sent back to prison, he will live for a maximum of 15-20 days."
