VAN - TJA women, who collected aid for women and children in Malatya, stated that they will overcome the process together by increasing solidarity.

Tevgera Jinen Azad (TJA) continues to work for earthquake-affected women and children with the slogan "The solidarity of Women with women" as part of March 8, International Women's Day.

TJA women in Van wrote on the aid boxes they prepared: “We women will heal our wounds together with our solidarity in all areas of life. we will grow and bloom again with hope, stubbornness, and struggle.” TJA women are preparing to send it to the women and children in Malatya.

'MARCH 8 HAS NEVER BEEN SO SIGNIFICANT'

TJA member lawyer Ekin Yeter said: "In the spirit of women's solidarity on March 8, aid parcels will be distributed from village to village, from district to district in Malatya, and that many needs are still not met in earthquake areas. We are carrying out aid campaigns as many women's organizations within the scope of March 8. The needs specific to women are our priority within the scope of the campaign. We are trying to prepare separate women's boxes for each woman. The basic needs are of course hygiene items, sanitary napkins and women's personal products. Our friends will deliver the parcels to the women themselves. March 8 has never been this significant, a process in which the struggle in this context has become stronger with solidarity.”

Stating that the male-dominated mentality also targets women in the earthquake zone, Yeter said: “The needs of women are still not met in earthquake areas. They still refuse to even pronounce it. They can't even say 'women's pads are needed'. We also act with the aim of destroying this perception. We are trying to meet the most basic needs of our fellow sexes, especially those marginalized by political power. We will continue to fight against these policies with our female identity.”

'WE WILL CONTINUE SOLIDARITY'

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Van Provincial Co-Chair Şengül Polat said: “We wanted to provide this support to women who experienced severe trauma. As TJA women, we wanted to reach women who get through severe trauma, along with all our institutions and structures. Until this process is over, a network of solidarity will be established in all aspects and we will continue this solidarity, especially through women and children.”
