İZMİR - Newroz in İzmir, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year, has left its place of rebellion and anger against the government due to the earthquakes this year.

 

The Newroz celebration, which was held in İzmir with the slogan "Everywhere is Newroz, everytime is freedom" and "Freedom with the fire of Newroz", started with the participation of thousands of people in Konak Gündoğdu Square. Citizens who came to the square early in the morning. People entered the field with zılgıt and slogans, "Long live Newroz'', "Long live Leader Apo'', "There is no life without Öcalan'', "Jin jiyan azadi", "Long live the resistance of prisoners'', "Shoulder to shoulder against fascism", "Long live the resistance of peoples" and "We will win by resisting". Citizens, who were kept at police checkpoints until the start of Newroz, entered the area this year after a body search.

The banners of "Happy Newroz", "Resistance is life", "We are coming to re-establish the land of labor and freedom" were carried in the area where the banners of HDP, Green Left Party and many political parties were unfurled, and photographs of the murdered Deniz Poyraz were carried. Election desks are set up in the Newroz area and the names of the people who will take part in the election are noted.

 

REBELLION  AND ANGER

 

This year, rebellion and anger rose due to the earthquakes that took place in the center of Maraş in the Newroz area of Izmir. In Gündoğdu Square, the people are condemning the government.

 

In memory of those who lost their lives in the earthquake, laurel branches representing mourning were moved. The Newroz program will begin with a moment of silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the earthquake area.
