NEWS CENTER - PKK Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan, who stated that democracy will not develop in Turkey until the Kurdish problem is resolved, said: "Everyone should work, take a national stance and have a stance against anti-Kurdishness" regarding the elections.

PKK Central Committee Member Murat Karayılan, who participated in the program of Stêrk TV, made evaluations about the elections and Turkey's attacks with 25 days left until the presidential and general elections that will take place in Turkey on May 14. Emphasizing that the Kurdish people, democratic circles, Kurdish and Turkish alliance forces should work, Karayılan drew attention to the importance of election work.

THE ISOLATION OF IMRALI

Pointing to the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, Karayılan said: “The conspiratorial hegemonic powers and the Turkish state are very afraid of Leader Apo's ideas and opinions being heard. Despite so many calls and marches for this, they do not make any relaxation in the isolation and psychological torture system in Imrali. In any case, the CPT is legitimizing it."

THE WAR IN THE ZAP

Reminding that the war based on Zap has completed one year, Karayılan said: " The war still continues in the region. Despite the decision of inaction, there are constant attacks on the Çemço and Sîda areas in the east of Zap and the FM Hill line in the west of Zap every day. All these are indicators of the defeat of the Turkish army. An army that calls itself 'NATO's second greatest power', despite having the most advanced weapons of its time and using prohibited weapons such as tactical nuclear bombs and chemicals, and the support of NATO Gladio and some Southern powers, the Turkish state could not get the guerrillas out of these areas. Of course, all of this hasn't happened just in the last year. For the last year, the war has been going on in the same positions uninterruptedly. Otherwise, as it is known, this war started in 2021. In other words, the Turkish state has been trying to invade Zap, Avaşîn and Metina for two years, but cannot invade."

'DEMOCRACY CANNOT DEVELOP UNLESS THE QUESTION IS SOLVED'

Evaluating the elections on May 14, Karayılan said: "I think we shouldn't get too delusional in terms of the election process, but Turkey's left democratic forces and the Kurdish people can strengthen themselves much more in this process. Our people should not expect anything from others, they should trust themselves. There are two strong alliances in Turkey. Commonwealth and Nation alliances. For example, the Nation Alliance, called the Six Tables, has been discussing for a year, and they have prepared many articles and presented their projects; It is said that they explain everything they will do with articles and books that reach a thousand pages, but none of these projects have a Kurdish Question. Just like the Treaty of Lausanne, as long as the Turkish state is in a position of war against the Kurdish people, that is, as long as there is no peace, democracy will not develop in Turkey; The Turkish economy will not improve either.”
