ISTANBUL - Drawing attention that the Imrali isolation is an "ideological attack" and Writer Ahmet Aktaş from the Democratic Intellectuals and Artists Initiative said: "Our actions will continue until the isolation on Abdullah Öcalan is lifted."

Campaigns launched all over the world to end the absolute isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in İmralı Type F High Security Prison, and to ensure his physical freedom, continue. Democratic Intellectuals and Artists Initiative published a declaration in Cologne, Germany, on October 9, within the scope of the campaign carried out with the motto "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan and a political solution to the Kurdish issue". Writer Ahmet Aktaş, one of the names who participated in the declaration statement, evaluated the demands regarding the Kurdish issue and Abdullah Öcalan.

'ABDULLAH ÖCALAN'S IDEAS EXCEEDED THE BORDERS'

Stating that Abdullah Öcalan wanted to be removed from the public with isolation, Aktaş said: "They want to scare the public with isolation policies. But the people crossed the threshold of fear and entered the phase of willpower and organization. This willpower and organization frustrated the plans of international powers. If you pay attention, many intellectuals, philosophers, writers in the world, artist, lawyer, human rights defender and politician, are protesting and fighting for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. This is an indication that Abdullah Öcalan has gone beyond the borders of the country and reached the world with his ideas."

Stating that Abdullah Öcalan is the person who has been isolated for the longest time in the world, Aktaş based on the struggle against isolation and said: "As international forces tried to destroy Abdullah Öcalan's philosophy, his ideology took root like an oak tree and became institutionalized; therefore, Abdullah Öcalan is no longer just a person or a leader, he is now an institution of leadership. It is new for all the people of the world. It made a great revolution because it offered a path and perspective. I think the biggest revolution is the women's revolution. This is what is most feared."

'OUR ACTIONS WILL CONTINUE'

No matter how deep the isolation gets, this philosophy has now reached people's hearts and minds, Aktaş said: "Currently, this isolation is being maintained by the hands of interstate powers because this is allowed, the isolation is being deepened, so imagine, somewhere, a cat falls from a tree and the whole world stands up but the whole world is deaf and dumb in the face of isolation."

Describing the isolation policies as an "ideological attack", Aktaş said: "Because there is an attack on ideology. The democratic nation paradigm proposed by Abdullah Öcalan is based on a fair, democratic, free, equal and dignified life together. He wants this for all the people of the world but nation states still insist on monism. They want to demoralize the society with isolation policies in order to maintain their own system. That's why they engage in prostitution, drugs, theft and all kinds of immorality within the country. In addition, they feed off of this by creating an environment of separation and conflict between people. They prevent Abdullah Öcalan from speaking and making his voice heard."

Aktaş called for an increase in the struggle against isolation and continued: "As the struggle grows, a free, democratic and internationalist life is established. That is why our actions will continue until the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan is lifted. All writers, artists, politicians, intellectuals who are against this isolation, Lawyers and everyone else must take responsibility."
