ŞIRNEK - Marchers, who continued the "Great Freedom March" they started from Wan under severe cold and snow, told the public about their demands of "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" at everywhere they reached.

The "Great Freedom March", which was launched by two branches, Wan and Qers (Kars), on February 1, demanding the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan, has entered its 50th day. Those who take part in the march, wherever they go, regardless of winter, draw attention to the absolute isolation imposed on Imralı and explain the importance of Freedom Abdullah Ocalan for the people of Turkey.

The marchers, who attract great attention wherever they go, are greeted with the words "Rewiyên Azadî / Freedom Passengers".

The Freedom Passengers, who started their "Great Freedom March" from Wan, stopped in Payîzava (Gürpınar) and Elbak (Başle) districts of the city on the first day of their march. The next day, the marchers went to Şemzînan (Şemdinli) district of Colemêrg (Hakkari), then went to Gever (Yüksekova) district and reached Colemêrg city center.

WALK CONTINUED UNDER FLAKY SNOW

The first stop of the freedom passengers, who set out from Colemêrg towards Şirnex yesterday morning, was Aşût (Çığlı) village in Çelê (Çukurca) district. Village residents welcomed the freedom marchers, who were waiting at the entrance of the village under flaky snowfall, with the slogan "Bijî berxwedana zindanan (Long live resistance of dungeons)".

The villagers embraced the marchers and walked together under the heavy snow until they reached the exit of the village.

'BİJÎ AZADİ, BİMRE KOLETÎ'

During the 5-hour journey from Çelê to Elkê, the marchers continued to tell the public their demands for "freedom for Abdullah Ocalan and democratic solution to the Kurdish issue" at every point they reached, despite the freezing cold. The delegation, which was welcomed with public interest in Elkê, marched together with the district's Ruspîs with the slogans "Bijî azadi, bimre koletî" (Long Live Freedom, Down with Slavery).

LAST STOP OF THE DAY: ROBOSKI CEMETERY

The last stop of the marchers, who gathered in public in Qileban district, was Roboskî Cemetery.

On December 28, 2011, in Roboskî, where 34 people, including 19 children, were massacred as a result of the bombardment of Turkish fighter aircraft, families who lost their relatives welcomed the delegation with photographs of their losses.

WORDS OF HALIME ENCU...

During the cemetery visit, Halime Encu, who lost her child in the massacre, said to the mothers of soldiers and police officers: "Come and give your hand to us. No more massacres. We want peace, freedom, unity. The pain and tears of mothers are the same. Let's all join hands and say enough.”

These words of Encu summarized the purpose of the freedom travelers who set out without hesitation against the deadlock and war policies towards the Kurdish issue.

Stating that justice in the Roboskî massacre could only be possible with a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue, the freedom passengers were bid farewell by their families, to whom they promised to struggle and continued on their way.
