NEWS CENTER - DEM Party announced that the divested right of Wan Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor candidate Abdullah Zeydan was withdrawn upon the objection of the Ministry of Justice, 5 minutes before the end of the working day. The party called for "This wrong decision must be reversed immediately."

The Central Executive Board (MYK) of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) made a written statement regarding the Wan Metropolitan Municipality elections. In the statement, it was emphasized that the party won "a rare victory in history" in Wan and said: " The people of Van won all 14 municipalities in total, including the Metropolitan Municipality, to the DEM Party, and made it the first party in the Provincial General Assembly by a large margin. The people of Van expressed their will clearly. It was reflected in the ballot box in the strongest way. This strong will is also a response to the trustee regime."

STATEMENT ON ZEYDAN'S SATISFACTION RIGHT DECISION

In the statement, it was pointed out that a new unlawful attempt was made in Wan, and it was emphasized that the decision to reinstate Wan Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor candidate Abdullah Zeydan's rights, upon the objection of the Ministry of Justice, was disregarded. In the statement, the following information was shared on the subject: "As it is known, our Van Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Abdullah Zeydan completed all legal procedures and applied to the Supreme Electoral Council, and his candidacy was accepted by the YSK as a result of the examinations. Zeydan received the support of the majority of the people in Van and has been selected.

VIOLATED THE COURT DECISION

However, on Friday, March 29, 2024, 5 minutes before the end of the working day and two days before the election, the Ministry of Justice, with an administrative decision and letter, objected to the legal rights of Zeydan, who received his legal rights in 2022 and passed all legal inspections. The authorized prosecutor's office re-applied to the court that gave the final injunction decision upon this administrative objection letter, which was an instruction. On the same day, the court reversed the final civil rights decision and rejected the civil rights request. It immediately notified the YSK before the decision became final, that is, before the right of objection and appeal was exercised.

The same court, which decided to accept the return of our Co-Mayor Abdullah Zeydan's divested rights, violated its decision and destroyed his right to legal security. This initiative is the product of an understanding that ignores the will of the people.

Abdullah Zeydan is the Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor of the people of Van. We invite everyone to respect this fact.

This wrong decision must be reversed immediately. This initiative, which disregards the will of the people of Van, is illegal. We call on all democratic public opinion to be sensitive to this initiative. The fundamental principle that creates democracies is to respect the will of the people. We invite the government to respect the will of the people!

We warn those who want to usurp the will of our people."
