Easter was celebrated at Diyarbakır Protestant Church in Sûr district of Amed. The celebrations started with Ömer Baysal, the Deputy Pastor of the church, reading mattas from the Bible in Kurdish and Turkish.

 

Then hymns were read. Children also performed theater performances and recited hymns. Pastor of the church, İlyas Uyar, gave sermons to the congregation.

 

The celebration ended with the hymn "May peace be with you". The church congregation celebrated the holiday with Easter eggs and sweet yeats breads.

 

Easter was celebrated with a ceremony at the Virgin Mary Church in Sûr district of Amed.
