NEWS CENTER - Women from four parts of Kurdistan called for “Let's be on the streets with our voices, slogans and the spirit of ‘jin, jiyan, azadi’” for the 2nd anniversary of the resistance in Iran.

It has been 2 years since the death of Jîna Emînî, who was murdered by the regime's Irshad patrols in Iran on September 16, 2022. After Jîna's death, thousands of people protested against the regime's practices with the slogan “Jin, jiyan, azadi (Women, life, freedom)”. Thousands of people were massacred by the Iranian regime's forces during the months-long serhildar. On the anniversary of the “Jin, jiyan, azadi” resistance, women in 4 parts of Kurdistan are preparing to take to the streets. Representatives of women's organizations in 4 parts of Kurdistan called on women on September 16.

'I CALL ON WOMEN TO EMBRACE THE SERHILDAN'
Ramziye Muhammed, Co-Chair of the Democratic Society Movement in Northern and Eastern Syria (TEV-DEM), stated that women no longer tolerate the male-state mentality and said: “Jin, jiyan azadî rebellion showed the whole world that women are no longer silent, that women's will is no longer silent and that they are raising their voices. We saw how the rebellion spread to Rojhilat Kurdistan and all the cities of Iran. Not only women, but the entire Rojhilat Kurdistan society and the oppressed peoples living in Iran raised their voices against the regime's violence.”

Stating that women no longer submit to oppression, “And the world is no longer silent. This is the effect of the philosophy of 'Jin, jiyan, azadi'. This revolt was not actually the first time. It was first heard in Rojava Kurdistan on July 19, and it greatly affected the west and north of Syria. On July 19, the revolution in Rojava prioritized the women's struggle. With the spark that emerged here, with the philosophy of Leader Apo, there was an uprising. Now our task as women is to sustain this revolution and bring it to the level of success. One of our duties as women is to embrace and protect this revolution and rebellion. For this reason, we call on all women, especially Rojavan women, to embrace the Jin Jiyan Azadî serhildan (resistance) on September 16” she said.

'LET'S TURN THE FIELDS INTO 'JIN JIYAN AZADÎ'
Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) activist Adalet Fidan said that “Jin, Jiyan, azadî” gives strength to Kurdish women. “On September 16th, Jîna Emînî was killed. The whole women's movement was targeted in the person of Jîna. The rulers want to have a say over women and submit to them. However, women who do not accept this, who oppose this and want freedom for the oppressed are resisting. The streets of the four parts of Kurdistan have become places of women's resistance and struggle. We will organize a march in Şırnak on September 16th to embrace this serhildan. As women from Botan, we will be on the streets with the slogan 'Jin Jiyan Azadî'. On the 16th, women from 7 to 70 will be on the streets. Let's be on the streets with our voices and slogans. Let us women together make the streets Jin Jiyan Azadî on September 16th” she said.

'WE WILL BE ON THE STREETS WITH ONE VOICE'
Ronak Majîd of the Free Women's Movement of Kurdistan (RJAK) from the Federated Kurdistan Region called on all women to embrace the serhildan and said: “We women have shown the whole world that we can change this system together. This serhildan is still going on. Even today, women all over the world are fighting against the patriarchal mentality with one voice. They want to eliminate the reality of freedom by enslaving and subjugating women. That is why we say that women must oppose slavery and raise the demand for freedom even higher. We women will be in the squares and on the streets with one voice, shoulder to shoulder, in the spirit of Jin Jiyan Azadî.”

'IT IS OUR FUNDAMENTAL DUTY TO EMBRACE FREEDOM'
Meryem Fethî, a member of Komelgeha Jinên Azad a Rojhilatê Kurdistanê (KJAR) from Rojhilat, called all women to the fields on September 16. Stating that the resistance continues and said: “On September 16, all women should be in the fields with the spirit of ‘Jin, Jiyan, azadî’. For this reason, we call on all women, it is the basic duty of each of us to embrace this philosophy and to embrace the prices paid for freedom. Let's all be on the streets together, shoulder to shoulder.”
