MÊRDÎN - Stating that they are focusing on freedom of Abdullah Öcalan, “Our axis, the direction we look at will be Mr. Öcalan's freedom and the solution of the Kurdish issue. Our resistance and struggle will be based on these principles,” DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır said.

While the discussions on the solution of the Kurdish issue have been going on in Turkish politics recently, trustees were appointed to the Esenyurt Municipality, which was elected with the Urban Consensus, and then to the Mêrdîn (Mardin) Metropolitan Municipality and the municipalities of Êlîh (Batman) and Xelfetî (Halfeti-Urfa), which were won by the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party). The trustee appointments were defined by many as an insistence on the insolvency of the Kurdish issue.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır evaluated the solution to the Kurdish issue, the role and mission of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the trustees appointed to the municipalities.

Bayındır stated that since October, the government has been discussing the solution of the Kurdish issue and the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and emphasized the importance of the international campaign for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and said that the campaigns that have been organized in 74 centers around the world for 2 years have turned into a struggle.

'ÖCALAN WANTS A CONSTITUTIONAL SOLUTION'

Bayındır stated that the solution of the Kurdish issue and the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan are now being discussed and said that Abdullah Öcalan wants to solve the Kurdish issue on democratic and constitutional grounds. Bayındır said that there is no clear road map for the solution of the Kurdish issue and the freedom of the PKK leader, adding that the problem has been going on for 100 years and Abdullah Öcalan wants to solve it on a constitutional basis.

Referring to the meeting held in İmralı by Ömer Öcalan, MP of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and nephew of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Bayındır said, “The AKP government and the state are attacking the solution of the Kurdish issue by calling it ‘war’ and ‘terrorism’. Today, when we look at the situation in Kurdistan and Turkey since November 1, hundreds of our friends, comrades and executives are facing a multifaceted detention, political and military operations. The practice of this government is to increase war and violence against the Kurdish people. This started in Esenyurt and in 3 of our cities the will of the Kurdish people is being seized by trustees. We know what lies behind this. The Kurdish people should not be distracted from their main agenda, what is our main agenda? The solution of the Kurdish issue and the freedom of Mr. Abdullah Öcalan.”

'THE KURDS ARE NOW AN INTERNATIONAL POWER'

Bayındır stated that the state mind and governments in Turkey emphasize the usurpation of will and military operations with trustee practices in every blockage they experience, and that the AKP-MHP government's policies that ignore the will of the Kurdish people, especially in the last 10 years, have been blocked.

“The conditions in the Middle East are changing and transforming in every aspect. The dynamic balances are also changing rapidly and in every aspect. The Kurdish issue is no longer just Turkey's issue or the Middle East's issue, it is an international issue. The Kurdish people have become an international power, not only in Northern Kurdistan or the Middle East. That is why the AKP government cannot take such cheap approaches against the Kurdish struggle and the Kurdish will. Turkey's cheap and unserious approach will always be wrong. Since 2016, it has implemented trustee policies against the will of the Kurdish people.  After what has happened since then, we ask; what have you gained? What has this government gained by ignoring the will of the Kurdish people, what has it gained through denial, destruction, assimilation of culture and Kurdish language? It has gained nothing,” he said.

'KURDS WILL NOT ACCEPT THEIR WILL TO BE IGNORED'

“This government has no policy other than denial, persecution and assimilation,” Bayındır said and underlining that they would support a process led by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and that they would continue to struggle for a solution on constitutional grounds.
“Everyone, all parties are pulling this issue towards themselves. But this is not something hidden or secret, the interlocutor of the Kurdish issue is not hidden, there is no dispute about the interlocutor and there is nothing hidden about the solution.  Everything is openly on the table. We will support the solution of the Kurdish issue under the leadership of Leader of the Kurds Mr. Öcalan and we are ready for it. However, we will not accept our will to be unrecognized and our will to be confiscated. The Kurdish people will not accept this. Today, in every street of Turkey and Kurdistan, Kurdish people are standing and resisting against the seizure of their will,” Bayındır said.

'OUR AXIS IS FREEDOM OF ÖCALAN'

Noting that the struggle of the Kurdish people is a struggle for existence and the desire for an honorable life, Bayındır emphasized that the struggle will be around the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and the solution of the Kurdish issue, and continued his speech as follows: “Therefore, the blockage is not in the struggle of the Kurdish people. It is not the Kurdish people who are open and unclear, but the AKP-MHP government. We have seen it clearly with the trustee practices and policies. There is nothing on their agenda about the road map for a solution. What is there? Confiscating the will of the Kurdish people, repeating the methods they have been imposing on oppressed peoples for years and not getting a solution. The people of Turkey, the opposition in Turkey and everyone who opposes this government should know that the government has not and will not get results with these actions. Turkey's future will be jeopardized in every sense. Turkey is at the edge of a cliff in this process. If it insists on these policies, on violence, on war policies, on policies against the Kurdish people, it will fall headlong.  The conditions in the Middle East today are obvious. We repeat, the Kurdish people now have an international power. Our power is bigger than the AKP government and the Turkish state. Everyone should know this well. However, we will struggle for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Mr. Abdullah Öcalan and for the solution of the Kurdish issue. Our work and struggle in every aspect will be on this basis. Our work in the four parts of Kurdistan will be on this basis. All our issues and discussions will be on this axis. Our axis, the direction we look at will be the freedom of Mr. Öcalan and the solution of the Kurdish issue.  Our resistance and struggle will be based on these principles. Let them know this. We will put up a historic resistance in Kurdistan.”

'THE PEOPLE SHOWED THE INTERLOCUTOR'

Referring to the October 13th rally in Amed (Diyarbakır), Bayındır said that Kurds once again showed the real interlocutor. Stating that the AKP-MHP government should give up its current policies, Bayındır said: “Millions of Kurds once again showed their interlocutor at the Amed rally on October 13.  Hundreds of thousands of Kurdish people in Turkey and Kurdistan, the peoples of Turkey and friends of the Kurdish people demonstrated their will with this organization.  The issue will reach a solution under the leadership of Mr. Öcalan.  This issue will be resolved with the freedom of the Kurdish people's leader Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. The Kurdish people have shown the way. From now on, it is the AKP-MHP government that will decide and strategically put this decision into action. They insist on their policies of ignoring, denial and annihilation, but there is no other way they can go. We want this issue to be resolved under the leadership of Mr. Öcalan.  All our institutions and organizations are waging their struggle on this basis and will continue to do so in the future.”
