Wan residents reacts Supreme Court decision

WAN - Residents of Wan Metropolitan Municipality reacted against the decision of the Supreme Court on the restitution of divested rights of Wan Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Abdullah Zeydan, emphasising that what happened is an injustice and that they will resist a possible trustee decision.

The 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court overturned the decision on the restitution of divested rights of Wan Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor Abdullah Zeydan, on the grounds that it was "irregular". The case will be re-examined by Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court. Residents of the city, to whom we turned the microphone on the issue, reacted to the Supreme Court's decision.
 
'TRUSTEE IS ROBBERY'
 
Pointing out that the decision of the Supreme Court could be used as a justification for a trustee, İskender Yurt emphasised that they would not let this situation pass. Yurt said: "We do not want a trustee. What had our co-mayors done that they were dismissed? This is bullying. We elected and won with our own will. We did not steal like them. We saw the debts of the municipalities governed by trustees. These debts were not incurred by our co-mayors, but by the trustees. They made the same attempts for Wan before, but we resisted and did not let them pass. We will do the same this time if necessary. We will resist until the end and continue our struggle." 
 
Mehmet Başaran said: "The AKP has not won a single victory without cheating. AKP has devoured every resource of the country. The economy has sunk, we all know very well where the budget is allocated. They have finished everything in health, economy, education, justice and law. We also condemn and reject these trustees. Trusteeship is in itself a robbery and a crime against humanity. They have not done what our DEM Party municipalities have been doing since the foundation of the republic. They have no tolerance for service. We say enough is enough".
 
'NO ONE WILL ACCEPT THIS INJUSTICE'
 
"Let whoever I voted for govern me" said Resül Koç and added: "We should not be governed by those imposed by the government. This is an insult to the Kurdish people. If these policies continue and a trustee is appointed in Wan, we will defend our will with all our might as we did last time. I have fought alongside this party since its foundation and I will continue to do so from now on."
 
Abdi Akkoyun said that Kurds were deprived of their right to vote and be elected, "This is an insult. If there is a trustee attempt again, we will take to the streets again and resist and protect our will. No one will accept this injustice. We will stand against this," he said.
 
'RESISTANCE' EMPHASISED
 
Kemal Aslan, said: "We do not accept or recognise the trustees. We will not accept any trustee to be appointed neither in Wan nor anywhere else and we will resist. We are no longer silent and we do not accept them. We will continue our struggle against this injustice in the fields. We will not back down even if we die. We will continue to demand our rights. What is done to us today will be done to everyone tomorrow."
 
Şemsettin Şipal, reacting to the dismissal of elected officials, "I voted for the DEM Party to govern, not the trustees. This is a lawlessness and insult. They should end these trustee policies. These problems cannot be solved by asking for peace on the one hand and appointing trustees on the other. I do not have faith that there will be a solution, but I hope there will be a solution. If they give up these policies, everything will be solved," he said. 
 
'WE WILL NOT ACCEPT'
 
The government has abolished peace, justice and law said Hüsnü Gürkan and added: "They talk about brotherhood in Turkey, but Kurds are being treated unlawfully. It is forbidden to speak the truth in Turkey. Therefore, if we speak the truth now, we will be criminals. The only thing I can say is that there is neither right nor law in this country."
 
Adem Çelik said: "As Wan has done before, all cities where trustees have been appointed must protect their will in the same way. Everyone must fight against the usurpation of will. Everyone who calls themselves an opponent in Turkey needs to speak out against this. The usurpation of our will is oppression. We will resist against the usurpation of will until we die."
 
Mustafa Acar emphasised that what is happening is unfair and said: "If a trustee is appointed to Wan, we will not accept it. The people will not accept this. We will fight until the end. Even if we accept it, our youth will never accept it."
