ADANA - Stating that Turkey knows that it will be negatively affected by the process of change in the Middle East if it does not take democratic steps, "The solution will be with Abdullah Öcalan," says DAD co-cahir Zeynel Kete.

Democratic Alawite Associations (DAD) co-chair Zeynel Kete evaluated the developments in Syria and the ongoing debates on the solution of the Kurdish issue. Kete said that global powers want to reshape the Middle East by creating new energy and trade routes.

Stating that the forces led by the USA and the UK are taking part in this design process, Kete emphasized that the developments in Syria are not independent from this situation. Describing Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which overthrew the Assad regime in November, as an "international trustee", Kete said that Iran will be next after Syria.

Kete said, "This will affect Iran, that is a fact. All the nation states in that line will be divided into separate parts by the international powers and in this way, control will be taken under control. Will Turkey be affected by this process? Yes, Turkey will also be affected in this process."

'THE INTERLOCUTOR IS OCALAN'

Kete said that Turkey realises that unless it takes democratic steps in which Kurds and Alawites are seen as equal and free citizens, it may be its turn to be the next in line, and stated that the talks in İmralı were initiated for this reason. Pointing out that Turkish Nationaltist Movement Party (MHP) Chair Devlet Bahçeli's statements and rhetoric should also be analysed in the light of the international conjuncture, "Regardless of the purpose of the statement, it was an important statement in terms of defining the interlocutor. 'The interlocutor of this problem is Mr Abdullah Öcalan', and the solution will be with him," he said.

Pointing to the economic losses and massacres caused by the conflicts that have been going on for more than 40 years, Kete continued, "The power that can prevent a deeper crisis and chaos that could occur in the 3rd World War from putting Turkey into a very bad process is the peace force. This is peace."
