ISTANBUL- In the statement made by TJA Sevcan Kadiroğlu said, "Öcalan's physical freedom is the guarantee of the freedom of all the peoples of this region" and called for an increase in the struggle.
Led by Free Women Movement (Tevgera Jinen Azad-TJA), a press statement was made at Özgürlük Square in Bakırköy district of Istanbul to protest the 26th anniversary of the international conspiracy against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. TJA activists, Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MPs, DEM Party executives, representatives of non-governmental organisations and many women participated in the demonstration. In the statement, slogans such as "No to war, peace now", "Biji Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)", "Be Serok jiyan nabe (Without Leader there is no life)", "Biji berxedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava)", "Jin jiyan azadi (Woman, life freedom)" were frequently chanted.
Speaking at the statement, DEM PArty MPs Çiçek Otlu and Cengiz Çiçek reacted against the appointment of a trustee in Wan (Van). MPs said they condemned the 15 February international conspiracy.
'ÖCALAN'S FREEDOM IS THE GUARANTEE OF PEOPLES'
Sevcan Kadiroğlu from TJA stated that the Kurdish people have been under the clamp of annihilation through conspiracies and annihilation attacks for a hundred years and underlined that the 15 February conspiracy was aimed at undermining the hope for a new life. Sevcan Kadiroğlu said, "Mr Öcalan's thoughts and the new life paradigm he developed became universal by breaking the İmralı isolation and torture system. The women's freedom line has reached the position of leading the women of the world."
CALL TO THE SOCIETY
Sevcan Kadiroğlu added, "Today we are at an important crossroads on the way to ensuring the conditions for peace and democratic life of our people. Condition for an honourable peace and a just solution is that Mr. Abdullah Öcalan regains his physical freedom and can freely engage in politics. We condemn the 15 February conspiracy once again today. We once again emphasise our determination to transform this day, which our people call a black day, into a system of honourable peace and free life.We are behind every step that Mr. Öcalan will take in the resumed dialogue process. We call on all public opinion, especially women and youth, to raise the struggle."
It is learned that the police attacked the crowd after the statement and detained 10 people.
