HAKKARİ- The family of Velat Duman who is on a hunger strike for 51 days in Tekirdağ No 2 Type F High Security Prison, said the prisoners are detoriorating. Mother Duman said the governments in Europe will also be responsible for the possible deaths.
Duman, reacting to Erdoğan for calling the HDP voters 'Terrorists', said: "Wearing regional clothes makes you a terrorist, speaking Kurdish and voting makes you a terrorist.. This mentality overlooks the hunger strikes in prisons." Duman conveying the message of her son,said: "They said they will continue their hunger strike until their demand is met and they said they take the chance of dying." Duman who said there are more than 40 million Kurds in Turkey, said they will not go extinct with dying and said the government must meet their demands at once.
Mother Meryem Duman, stating that sees every prisoners like her own children, said: "Those people are on hunger strike with one demand only and that is the termination of isolation. The government maintains their silence regarding the hunger strikes. There are funerals coming out of the prisons already. Zülküf Gezen was my son's friend in prison and we could not prevent his death. This silence should end immediately. The agendas of all countries should be these hunger strikes. This isolation is unaccaptable. Thousands of people are on hunger strike for it. The European governments who also maintain their silence will be responsible from the deaths as well."
