İSTANBUL - The newspaper employees who protested Akit Tv anchor who targeted them, said: "An investigation should be initiated immediately. Prosecutors were content with watching the call for massacre."

 

Cumhuriyet Newspaper employees and Turkey Journalists' Union (TGS) made a press release in front of their building in İstanbul, Şişli regarding the Akit Tv anchor who targeted them and said 'We should gather and throw a hand grenade in front of their building'. TGS Workplace Represantative and Cumhuriyet Newspaper reporter Hazal Ocak spoke at the press release.

 

Ocak, stating that the employees of Cumhuriyet Newspaper will not submit to threats, said: "Akit Tv anchor targeted our newspaper for a news article published on December 20 with the headline 'Sharia workshop' and said 'Let's throw a hand grenade in front of their building'. An investigation should be initiated immediately. Prosecutors were content with watching the call for massacre."

 

Ocak stating that they will file a criminal complaint about the anchor, said as Cumhuriyet Newspaper they were attacked by mobs like this many times but never submitted to the threats or gave up writing the truth.
