URFA - Yesterday's fire on Imrali Island reminded of past practices for Öcalan, who has been there for 21 years. Öcalan, who was subjected to many pressures under absolute isolation, considered the words of the authorities saying 'We are 150 meters away from you' as is 'destruction'.

The fire on Imrali Island, which was revealed by the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu in a TV program he attended, brought up the threats that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan has been exposed to for 21 years. After he was delivered to Turkey on February 15, 1999 with an international conspiracy and brought to İmralı Island, PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was subjected to physical and psychological pressure many times.

ÖCALAN: THEY WANT TO DESTROY ME

PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan has frequently made serious warnings about these practices developed towards him. Öcalan, speaking to his lawyers after a long time in cellsThere is a strategic agreement between Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan and Deniz Baykal. They want to silence me. I do not understand this. Because it is clear that they have been trying to do it for 7 years. I tried to live in cell conditions for 7 years, I resisted, I tried to live for peace. Despite this, I want to be silenced with the last penalties and maybe destroyed."

'THEY CAN KILL ME HERE'

Emphasizing the main purpose of this approach in many meetings, Öcalan said in a meeting with the HDP delegation that exactly those who attempted the coup on July 15, 2016 could turn to him. Reminding the murder of Pervin Buldan's wife Savaş Buldan, who took part in the meeting on June 7, 2013, Öcalan said, “I am a political person. They can kill me here at any time. They can make this country a country of coups. ”

'WE ARE 150 METERS AWAY FROM YOU'

During the meeting held in İmralı one day before 28 February 2015, when the historical Dolmabahçe Consensus was announced, Öcalan said that those who want to kill him are right beside him. There were special warfare experts here in the past. Someone came before Mr. E. I had my letters tied up in a rope. They looked at me and looked at the envelopes and they cut the rope and scattered the letetrs. I just watched them. I did not react. One of them told me 'We are 150 meters away from you' while they were leaving. I never forget that. They might even be here now. They can kill me or I can die. That will have terrible consequences.

KURDS TO TAKE THE STREETS

It turned out that İmralı prison was shot at during the coup attempt on July 15. And a fire broke out yesterday. Asrın Law Office applied to go to the island. DTK, TJA,HDP and DBP made statements and demanded the doors to İmralı to be opened. CPT called for a delegetion to be sent to İmralı. But the government authorities did not respond to any of the statements. The Kurds and Kurdish politics, who expressed their concerns due to the fire on the island took the streets to completely break the absolute isolation in İmralı.
