HATAY - Havva Zor who killed her husband who subjects her to violence and sexually assaulted her daughter Mikail Zor in self defense said: "He would have restored his honour if I was killed. I killed that man who defiled my honour. He died and it became an attrocity" in reaction to the masculine media.Zor called on to the women to unite in March 8 and be a force of nature.

Havva Zor who killed his husband who abused her and her children in self defense was tried with a request of aggravated life sentence. Zor was sentenced to 18 years which was reduced to 15 years in the final hearing held on July 12, 2019. Lawyers who objected to the decision carried the file to the Court of Appeals, but when the sentence is approved the file was sent to the Supreme Court.

Havva Zor answered the questions of our agency Mesopotamia Agency (MA) via her lawyer from İskenderun Type T Closed Prison.

'HE KILLED MY HUMANITY'

Zor who was born in 1982 in Antakya as the only daughter of a family with 5 children, said she had a hard life. Zor said: "This was my second marriage. I wasn't happy with the first one as well. I always dreamt of a peaceful home. I wanted my children to grow up in a loving family. I was subjected to violence since the first day of my marriage. My children were constantly being insulted. I learned about the sexual harrasment my daughter was subjected to on the day of the incident. I asked my daughter and she confirmed it. I asked my husband, he said 'I can do anything I want to you and your daughter'. I went crazy. I was sad and shocked because I wasn't able to realize the pain and suffering my daughter went through. I killed him because he could kill my daughter. I am so sorry. He killed my humanity. I am going over what I have been through in prison. This is not me. I ask myself what I am doing here."

'SOLIDARITY GAVE ME POWER'

Zor explaining the process during the trial and arrest, said she is feeling more comfortable because he can not hurt her daughter anymore. Stating that the solidarity women show from the first day gave her power, Zor said: "I made my defense hearing the women shouting 'we are with you' from the back".Zor said her children are with their grandmother now and they are continuing their education.

Zor reacting to the language of the pro-government media, said this is hypocritical. Zor sent a message for March 8 and said: "I saw a news article with the headline 'We want execution to that women who committed this atrocity'. He would have restored his honour if I was killed, he died and it became an attrocity. Despite all these, I won. The solidarity of the women won. I want the women to get together on March 8 and give eachother strength."
