HAKKARİ - Arrested after being detained during a house raid on his home in 15 October 2019 in Yüksekova, Yüksekova Municipal Co-mayor İrfan Sarı was released on charges of “organizational propaganda” for 1 year and 3 months.

 
He was detained during a house raid on his home in 15 October 2019 in Hakkari and arrested by the court in Hakkari Courthouse on 17 October, and sent to the Elazığ T Type Closed Prison on November 5, 2019. The third hearing was held in Hakkari 3rd High Criminal Court.
 
Sarı attended the hearing via SEGBİS, while Sarı's lawyers, People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Sait Dede, HDP provincial and district co-chairs, and his family also attended the hearing.
 
The court board decided Sarı's acquittal from the accusation of 'being a member of an illegal organization' and decided his release from prison considering the time he served in prison.
