VAN - The search for Mehmetcan Taşdemir who was buried under the avalanche that claimed the lives of 41 people in Van's Bahçesaray expressway, resumed after 36 days.
The search for firefighter Mehmetcan Daşdemir resumed after 36 days on the Van-Bahçesaray highway, after two avalanches occured on first February 4, then February 5. The avalance claimed the lives of 41 people while 84 people were injured as a result of the avalance. Since February 7, transportation to the avalanche area could not be provided due to the heavy snow and possibility of a new avalanche.
In a statement made by the Van Governorate, it was stated that the closed road was opened and the work has started again. It has been noted that no entry is allowed outside the expert work teams to the region as of this morning.
