THE DEATH OF HELİN BÖLEK

Beginning her speech firstly commemorating the recently lost Grup Yorum member Helin Bölek, Buldan said: "Helin and Grup Yorum members turned their hunger strike protests to death fasts just to sing their songs freely. Helin now closed her eyes to the life. We see the governemnt as the responsible of this death. The demands of Helin and her friends were not the demands so hard to be satisfied by the government. The ones who deem such an oppression against Grup Yorum are the ones who caused Helin's death. I present hereby my condolences to Grup Yorum and Helin's family".

Announcing that they have initiated the "Sibling Family" campaign to raise the solidarity for the common fight against the  coronavirus outbreak HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, added: "A voice, an image from the İmralı Prison should reach to the public", reminding the risk of pandemic that the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan also faces in prison.

Buldan emphasized the need that the society needs security of live their livelihood during lockdowns as well as the international solidarity is highly needed in this process. Buldan said, "We want to say that the measures taken till now are not adequate. We want to repeat one more time: stay home. The life should be stopped for a while and the governemnt should ensure the people on this matter. European countries may be taken as an example in this regard".

'GOVERNMENT GOES THEIR OWN WAY'

Mentioning the new regulation on the execution law, which has recently passed in the Turkish parliement by the votes of AKP-MHP, Buldan said, "Government goes their own way. This law should ensure that all the prisoners are released in this process. Thousands of people are kept inside prisons just because they expressed their opinions. This execution law should comply by the principle of equality so that the these prisoners are not left to die in prisons and the prisons not to turn into graves. This is vital."

CALL FOR THE PRISONS

Buldan stated that there is still a chance for the execution law and said, "Millions of people wait for the new exectuion law, which will be brought to the General Assembly in the parliement. A regulation, which embraces the political prisoners, is needed to relieve the public conscience all together. As HDP, we propose the prisons to be turned in to quarantine centers through this process".

'A VOICE OR IMAGE SHOULD REACH FROM İMRALI'

Pointing out to the fact the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is kept in İmralı F-Type Prison, Buldan said, "It is not just Mr. Öcalan, but also other prisoners in İmralı Prison. And Mr. Öcalan is in the risk group. Therefore, a voice, an image should definitely be reaching from İmralı to the society of Turkey. Mr. Öcalan should use his phone call right. It is very important that an independent health committee goes to İmralı".
