ANKARA- Stating that the request of release for HDP^'s ex Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ were rejected without further consideration, her lawyer Ezgi Güngördü said that the decisions regarding to their applications were made without taking into consideration "the right to live" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The application for the release regarding the release of Figen Yüksekdağ, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) ex-Co-Chair was rejected. The application of for the release of Yüksekdağ was made to the 5th Criminal Court of Peace of Ankara on April 15. The lawyers of Yüksekdağ filed an objection against the decision of the court.

The appeal for the release of Yüksekdağ, who was detained due to two separate files, one in the 16th Heavy Penal Court of Ankara and the other case file on 17th Heavy Penal Court of Ankara, was rejected on the grounds that there was no "concrete evidence".  with the demand of "right to life" was rejected on March 30 for the first case file and for the latter, the response has not yet been received.

'DECISION IS NOT RIGHT IN ALL CONSCIENCE'

Saying that the decisions are given without further examination of  the "right to life" even during the coronavirus outbreak. Güngördü explained to process as follows: "In our application to the 16th High Criminal Court of Ankara for our client's release, we said that 'her right to live is under threat'. However, the court board said, 'There is no concrete evidence' without the further examination of our claims. You may not believe us, but I want to ask; Could not the court board get information about the measures taken by the prison administration or what the condition of the cleaning materials are? What are the conditions of hygene materials? Is social physical isolation provided? Without any information supplied regarding these questions, the court has automatically rejected our demad. This decision is not right in all conscience in such a process.”

Güngördü, once again stated that they will apply for another request of release for their client Figen Yüksekdağ to support her "right to live".
