Prisons are not disinfected, there are no masks or gloves

ADANA - The prisoners in the prisons of Adana reported that the measures in the prisons against the coronavirus pandemic are far from being enough as the prison wards are not disinfected and there are no masks or gloves for the prisoners.
 
The prisoners in the Adana Kürkçüler Type F Closed Prison, Tarsus No.3  Type T Closed Prison, Alanya Type L Closed Prison, Karaman Type M Closed Prison and antalya Typle L Closed Prison shared the conditions of the prisons over their weekly phone call with their families. Prisoners took attention to that there are not enough measures taken in prisons against the coronavirus pandemic.
 
'A GREAT RISK FOR THE SICK PRISONERS'
 
Ebedin Aktaş, a prisoner in Tarsus No.3  Type T Closed Prison, shared the information that guardians still come to their ward to count the prisoners and that the wards are not disinfected as the prisoners are not taken to the prison infirmary
 
Aktaş said, "There is no preventive measures against the pandemic. Our ward friend Mehmet Aktaş is sich with epilepsy. His immune system is way too weak and in case of infection he would have heavy seizures."
 
PRISONERS ARE WORRIED 
 
Şahin Yıldırım and Seyit Aşkan, two prisoners in Alanya Type-L Closed Prison also shared the following information: "We lack of hygene equipments and disinfectants. We are not able to by these from the canteen. We are not also using our right to go to the ventilation area due to the pandemic".
 
Çetin Sağır, a prisoner in Antalya Type-L Closed Prison, share the following statement: "We are not given gloves or masks. When we go to the prison infirmary we are not also given any masks or gloves. Doctors and guardians take their own measures. We are worried about our own health."
 
ONLY ONE MASK IS DISTRIBUTED!
 
Mehmet Zair, a prisoner in Adana Kürkçüler Type-F Closed Prison stated that they are not able to use any common areas and all their connection with their friends are cut. Şahin explained the situation in his prison as follows: "The basic products are not sold in the canteen due to the virus and we are unable to get those products. Our ward has not been disinfected yet. they have distributed only one mask to us and we have been given no other protective equipment other than this one mask. 
 
Ali Aydın, a prisoner in Karaman Type M Closed Prison, shared the information that their ward has been disinfect once, but they share the same ward as 6 prisoners all together and there no serious measures taken in the prison for the pandemic.
