ŞIRNAK - The former KDP peshmerga, Mustafa Ölmez raised his demand for the withdrawal of the peshmerga forces in Zînî Wertê and lifting the embargo in Mahmur, called for "Kurds to solve their problems and act with the awareness of national unity. No more bloodshed."

After the peshmerga forces were directed to the Zînî Wertê zone located in the Iraq Kurdistan Region ruled by Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), the discussions are far from end. Zînî Wertê, which is under the control of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (YNK) forces has been bombed by Turkish military forces together with the Mexmur Camp, which has been under strickt embrago for 9 months.

Formed KDP peshmerga Mustafa Ölmez shared his comments on the conflict, calling for national unity of the Kurdish people in the region and to stop the bloodshed among the Kurds.

"In 1970s, we had a meeting about an inner conflict in our town that KDP officials also attended. They called us to fight against Saddam Hussein, who was the common enemy of us all. They told us a troop was on their way to attack our region, which was commanded by Saddam Hussein. So all the clan leaders made a joint fight against the coming troops and we have killed many of them. I asked one of the captives we took: 'Aren't yo shamed to attack your own people to be paid by Saddam?' and he answered: 'We are from YNK. We think not the same as you do, but we have never attacked to our people. KDP played you and made you attack us. We have came to this region to get into contact with you, not to attack", said the former peshmerga fighter Ölmez sharing his previous war experience with KDP.

Ölmez shared his comments on the ongoing conflict, calling for the unity among Kurds: "Kurdistan is the territory of all Kurds. The embargo on our fellows in Mexmur should be lifted immediately. KDP should clean itself up from certain people, who work for the Turkish intelligence, if they sincerely want to protect the benefits of the Kurds. Just what happaned in Taştemêre incident, the mentality should not be accepted which causes fellow people to fight. Peshmerga should look into well, who is the friend and who is the enemy. A mentality which bans us to speak Kurdish can not be friend. Political opinions may differ, but the Kurds shall act on national consciousness."
