IMPRISONED WITH CRUTCHES

Mensure Sevim's husband Fahrettin Sevim is kept in Diyarbakır Type-D Prison for the last one year and he uses Wife Sevim shares the information that her husband is imprisoned and sentenced to prison of 4 years and 2 months, based on the grounds that he attended a funeral 13 years ago. She says her husband was a cleaning worker before he was jailed and he was purged from his job in the local municipality after a trustee was appointed to the municipality by the government. Sevim told that her husband uses crutches to walk because he had an accident where he hurt his legs and he is in prison alone in this health condition.

Sevim told that "There is no measure in the prison and we know that. He is supposed to released with the other released prisoners, who are not political, because he has a health condition. The state should take the necessary steps for the political prisoners to be released as well."

BEFORE THE DEATHS OCCUR...

Fevziye Kolacak is the mother of two imprisoned sons, on of them is Ahmet Kolakan in Balıkesir Bandırma Type-T Prison and the other is Mahsun Kolakan in Siverek Type-T Prison. Ahmet Kolakan is a sick prisoner and the mother is intensely worried about her two sons as she shared her feelings as follows: "Ahmet has more than one health issue. He is wounded on the arm, he has problems also with his legs, he has a cardiac velve problem as well as kidney problems. He has a medical report stating that he should not be kept prison conditions. However, they do not let my son out. The conditions of the prisons are known by the public and we worry much about our sons who are kept in prison. They do not disinfectate the prison wards as they do not distribute glows and masks to the prisoners. 16 prisoners stay in a ward. Our children are in danger and we are worried. My other son Mahsun is imprisoned for 6 months as well. We do not accept the execution law. The law was supposed to be equal and it should have included the political prisoners. If there are deaths in prisons, the responsible of these deaths are the Ministry of Justice. Don't let mothers cry anymore, don't let us suffer this pain. Let them out before deaths occur."
