URFA - Stating that the experiences in the Middle East and around the globe imposes Kurds to unite, HDP Urfa MP Ömer Öcalan told, "What the people demand from us is the unity. This is not something to be achieved by mere discourse, we need solid steps to take".

The discussion regarding the national unity, which has begun to be called as a "necessity"  get heated gradually among the Kurdish public opinion after the peshmerga forces and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) sent to the Zinê Wertê region in the Federal Kurdistan Region. Sharing his evaluations regarding their attempts and contacts regarding the hot issue, Peoples' Democratic Party Urfa MP Ömer Öcalan told that the the time has comefor the discourse of national unity to turn into an act with solid steps for unity.

THE CENTURY OF THE KURDS

Adressing the conflicts and developments through the Middle East, Ömer Öcalan stated that the experiences in the 29th century continued to be repeated today in Syria, Federal Kurdistan, Iraw, Lebanon, Turkey and Iran as the chaos persists. "When this issue is evaluated with the frame of the thought, the philosophy and the democratic modernity paradigm of Mr. (Abdullah) Öcalan, the destiny of Kurdistan and the Middle East would be understood more clearly. Kurds do no make politics they way they did before. The develop strategical moves and they pursue diplomacy of great scale internationally. The steps, aiming toe realize the current demands of Kurds, have been taken in the 21st century. It is essential to enhance such diplomacy. 21st century will be the century of the Kurds", said Ömer Öcalan as he emphasized that the attempts to re-design the Middle East are not a secret.

PRACTICAL STEPS

"Free Kurdistan, is the demand of the Kurds", added Öcalan as he spoke about the importance of the common struggle shoulder by shoulder for all those, who support and demand freedom as the Kurds have been paying a heavy price for that. Öcalan declared that, "Democratic modernity is an alternative not only for a free Kurdistan and a democratic Turkey, but also for the Middle East and humanity. The society of the Middle East is oppressed and sold off. That is why the humanity should embrace this paradigm to return back to its essence. This is not something to be achieved by mere discourse, we need solid steps to take. People should ask the questio that, 'What can I do for the future, the culture, the language of the Kurdish people?'. Everybody should re-evaluate their stance on this matter. We have no tolerance to continue to live without a status in this century".

'FEODAL FAMILY PERSPECTIVE TAKES THE STRUGGLE BACK'

Noting their intense efforts to be a powerful actor on the level of the international diplomacy and to take the necessary, solid steps for the Kurdish national unity, Öcalan continued his speech as follows: "On the other hand we see division and Kurds getting further apart from each other. Look at South Kurdistan. Suleymaniye on one hand, Hewler on the other... They are divided by tribes and feodal family seperations. Our party sees Kurdistan as a whole unity, even though divided into four and tries to make such a politics that the people can be represented through their party. The ones capable of doing that is the children of these volks. Tribal, feodal, family perspective takes the struggle of the Kurdish people back. It is true that there is a great struggle for the Kurds to earn a status, but for that we also need to develop democracy within. Unless this democracy achieved, there will be a blokcage to achieve that goal. There is a bunch of discourses, but no practice. Practical steps taken so far are far from enough. Effort, hard-work and unity is much needed. There are some significant steps taken in Rojava. There are also developments regarding the relations with USA, Russia and France. Diplomacy is important. Diplomacy is not only important for the European states or USA or Russia, but also for the volks".

ATTACKS ARE MULTI-DIRECTIONAL

As Öcalan lists a number of attacks targeting the Kurds in the Turkey of the 21st century, he adressed the attacks on the graves as part of a multi-directional attack strategy as follows: "One of the very important values of the Kurds are their graves. The state attacks the graves of the children of Kurds furiosly in such a dispair. Thousands of our people lost their lives. They murdered the children of our people attacking the Kurdish cities in the recent period. The graves are the collective memory of the people. Kurds do not see, who lie under these graves as 'dead'. They see their thoughts, their ideas, their philosophy when they look at those graves. They see the struggle, the morality and their future in their graves. The state knows the role and the mission of the people in those graves very well. That is why they attack so badly to whatever they find valuable for the Kurds. This only humiliates the state, not the vice versa. Kurdish people will see all of that happening to them and determine their own path accordingly."

'UNITY MAKES AS STRONG'

As the HDP MP also took attention to the condition of the PKK leaeder Abdullah Öcalan, who has been imprisoned under heavy isolation in İmralı Prison for 21 years, he also drew attention the unity perspective of Öcalan as leader of Kurdistan divided in four parts with the following remarks:"The perspective of Mr. Öcalan is loud and clear, as he states that once the power is not achieved, there can be no politics and unless the Kurds become the power, the colonialist states and international powers will always cause the fight among brothers. Either developing relations with Iran or Turkey or Iraq, some international powers make their plans regarding the region based on the destruction of Kurdish existence. That is why Öcalan emphasized the Kurdish unity in all his recent messages he were able to share. The last time he reminded the dialogue with Barzani. So it is the time that we take the necessary steps to embrace each other. Of course, there are ideological, theoretical differences among the Kurdistani parties. However, what is important in here lies on the fact that we must unite. This can not be achieved mere by saying it, but we have to act for it".
