Ajansa Welat started its broadcasting life today with the slogan "Deng û rengê welat (The voice and colour of the country)". The language of the agency established in Amed will be Kurdish. The agency will include news on both national and international developments. 

 

The agency announced its establishment with the following text: "Importmant developments are taking place in our geography and Kurds are going through a historical process. There are very important days in the history of peoples; we are starting our broadcasting life on such a day, which has a historical significance for us. 

 

The Free Press has paid and is still paying heavy prices in the decades-long struggle for truth. Free Press labourers have lost their lives, been arrested and subjected to all kinds of pressure for this cause. However, it has never backed down in the face of all this. On the contrary, it has strengthened its power and expanded its perimeter in order to bring the truth to the society despite the great costs.

 

We take our strength from our truth. Ajansa Welat joins the Free Press caravan today to voice this truth. We know very well that freedom of the press is possible by sharing real news. Freedom is also possible with knowing and truth.

 

Ajansa Welat has a great belief to be the voice and colour of the country; we will be the voice of our people, we will announce the voice of our people to the whole world and we will share all the colours of our country with humanity.

 

Our publication will be entirely in Kurdish. We are starting our broadcasting life in Kurmancî and Kirmanckî dialects of Kurdish. Our primary goal is to broadcast in all dialects of Kurdish in the future.
