AMED - Calling for participation in the "Freedom March" to be held in Gemlik, TJA drew attention that the real power that can lift the isolation is women.
The Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) made a press statement at the MED Prisoner and Convict Families Federation of Legal and Solidarity Associations (MED TUHAD-FED) building regarding the "Freedom March" to be held in Gemlik on November 18. MED TUHAD-FED, Democratic Regions Party (DBP), People's Equality and Democracy Party (HEDEP), Peace Mothers Assembly members and many women attended the statement.

'HOSTILITY TO KURDS AND WOMEN HAS BEEN DEEPENED'

Stating that the AKP-MHP alliance based on the war regime has deepened the hostility towards Kurds and women, Kaya said: "This deepening hostility is now wanted to be turned into a law. The trustee regime, where the Constitution and ECtHR decisions are suspended, the will of the Kurdish people is usurped, hostages are taken with political massacre operations. It is proof that an enemy law is being implemented against Kurds and women with its policies. The pressure on our mother tongue, as well as the attempts to lynch those who defend their mother tongue, cannot be considered independently of the polarizing politics of this government. While the destruction caused by all this enemy law directly affects the lives of women, the government tries to motivate war and militarism. It steals from all of our lives. Women are exposed to violence, and it is even normalized to live with male-state violence. Our waters and rivers are polluted by the government's war profits. Our forests are burned, we are subjected to migrations and exiles. Poverty is deepening with these policies. "Bread, justice, freedom and equality have become the most difficult issues to achieve in this country."

'WOMEN ARE THE REAL POWER TO LIFT THE ISOLATION'

Stating that it is everyone's main responsibility to increase the women's freedom struggle and lift the absolute isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Kaya said: "We are the ones who have to leave our living spaces and are exposed to all kinds of harassment, rape and abuse on migration routes. Women can breathe easy against those who want to leave them breathless. Women are the real power that will lift the isolation, which is a crime against humanity, for a life we can have. Mr. Öcalan's physical freedom is our main agenda because we defend freedom for freedom. We defend justice for justice. We defend the equality that is our right for equality."

Kaya said: "We defend Mr. Öcalan's freedom for the democratic solution of the Kurdish issue" and called for participation in the "Freedom March" to be held on November 18.
