ANKARA - Noting that the files of lawyers Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsal are in the Supreme Court of Appeals and that they are 4 days left until the judicial recess begins, Lawyer Ayşegül Çağatay from People's Law Office (HHB) said: "Its our debt to Helin, İbrahim and Çağatay to keep them alive."

The death fast started by the lawyers Ebru Timtik and Aytaç Ünsan from  Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD) and the People's Law Firm (HHB) demanding fair trial continues. Ebru Timtik is on the 197th day of the death fast while Ünsal is on the 166th day of the death fast. While the health of the lawyers are detoriorating day by day, their families are waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court about their children.  Having examined the lawyers' file at the beginning of June, the Supreme Court still has not announced its decision.

Noting that every minute is working against Timtik and Ünsal, Ayşegül Çağatay, one of the lawyers of HHB, said: "Ebru is now below 40 kilos and Aytaç is now below 60. The solution to this is not medical, their demand must be met."

Stating that they were able to form a public opinion on the death fasting lawyers, Çağatay said: "We are facing silence. We keep thinking about ways to break this silence. What can we do? How can we keep our friends alive? The sense of justice will take a major blow if we lose them too like İbrahim, Helin and Koçak. They are the represantatives of hope now, showing us that you can resist even if you are put behind bars and razor wires. They are the represantatives of hope and we have to protect this hope. We have lost 3 of our clients, Mustafa, Helin and İbrahim to a death fast. It is our debt to them to keep these two lawyers and to clients alive."

'WE WERE ACQUITTED IN THE PUBLIC EYE'

Stating that they can do more harm to the people if they are doing this to lawyers, Çağatay they are already acquitted in the public eye. Stating that the people understand that the revolutionary lawyers are resisting for them, Çağatay said there must be a stronger noise in order to keep them alive.

Underlining that Timtik and Ünsal keeps asking about their clients everytime she sees them, Çağatay said: "Ebru and Aytaç says 'No one's blood is redder than another. We are all fighting for justice.' Çağatay called out to the people and said: "Everyone has something they can do to keep them alive. Doing that is all we ask."
